Tania
Senior Behaviour Support Practitioner and Developmental Educator
Adelaide Metro, Adelaide West, Adelaide North & North East
Tania has spent her career working alongside and supporting people — first as a nurse, and now as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner and Developmental Educator. Her understanding of disability isn’t just professional; she also has lived experience, having a son with Autism (she understands!).
Her approach to support is person-centred, neuro-affirming, and trauma-informed — Tania believes people are the experts in their own lives, and her role is to listen, understand, and work alongside them (and the people who love them) to build supports that genuinely fit.
Tania has extensive experience working with people with disability, with a particular interest in supporting people with Intellectual Disability and/or Dementia and their families/caregivers.
Tania also enjoys working with children, teens, and families — part of her approach is about equipping parents and caregivers with the tools they need to put supports in place at home.
Tania has also worked as a Support Coordinator, which has given her a strong understanding of the NDIS system and how to help people connect with the right supports and services.
Tania holds a Bachelor of Disability and Developmental Education and is an Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner. Alongside her client work, she really enjoys mentoring other practitioners and DEs, helping them grow their skills and confidence, and supporting staff working with NDIS participants to keep quality of life at the centre of what they do.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find Tania with a book or a crochet hook in hand, catching up with friends and family over a long lunch (or a quick coffee), or taking a walk along the beach.
