FAQ – Support Coordination

What is support coordination?

Support Coordination is an NDIS funded service that is designed to assist participants to make the most of their NDIS funds. Our support coordinators will review your NDIS plan and explain exactly what it means. They will talk you through the funds you have been allocated and the types of support services, equipment and technology you can access.  They will offer you recommendations on the types of services you may need and connect you with your choice of service providers so you can start receiving the help you need.

Who can get support coordination?

Not everyone receives funding support coordination services, but if you would like help to work out how to use your NDIS funding, you should speak to your LAC and ask for support coordination in your next planning meeting.

Can I change my supports?

Yes! Everyone’s needs evolve over time, particularly if you use allied health services. If your needs change, if something is not right with your existing provider or if you simply want to try something new and different we can help you transition to a new service provider. If you no longer need a specific service we will help you use your funding in other areas to support your goals.

What if I need extra funding?

Our team have a strong clinical background with in-depth knowledge of how the NDIS works and we can help you access additional funding. The more comprehensive the information and supporting evidence we can provide to illustrate your needs and demonstrate how the additional funding will be spent, the easier it is for the NDIA to make a decision.

We will work with you and your service providers to assess your needs and organise all the relevant paperwork (functional capacity assessments, allied health reports, data demonstrating challenging behaviours/support letters etc), to build a strong case to help you secure the level of funding you need.
